Ticker Symbol Health Monitoring

Market data isn’t always reliable. Now Foliofox actively watches for issues.

• Foliofox now continuously checks the health of the ticker symbols you own, based on how fresh and reliable the price data is.
• If a symbol stops updating, becomes stale, or shows anomalies, the issue is surfaced directly to you as a warning.
• This can happen for several reasons: halted trading, data provider issues, or most commonly: ticker symbol renames.

When an issue is detected:

• You can now change the ticker symbol of a position while keeping your full history and net worth intact.

This is an important step toward making Foliofox a resilient tool.

Extended Net Worth Chart Timeframes

More history, more perspective.

• You can now explore your net worth across longer timeframes, making it easier to focus on trends instead of short-term noise.
• Performance has been improved at the same time, so charts stay fast even as your data grows.

This builds on daily net worth tracking and prepares the ground for more advanced analysis.

Full Localization (Numbers, Dates, Currencies)

Foliofox now adapts to how you read numbers.

• Numbers, currencies, and dates are now fully localized based on your region.
• No more odd separators or mixed formats.

Language support will come later, this update lays the foundation.

Portfolio Records with Advanced Sorting and Filtering

Your Portfolio Records finally got the space they deserve.

• We introduced a dedicated Records page with full sorting and filtering.
• You can slice your history by type, date, and other attributes.
• This makes audits, backfills, and cleanup much easier.

If you actively and manually manage your data, this one’s a big upgrade.

Scenario Planning (Beta)

This month we shipped the first version of Scenario Planning.

• You can now explore “what if” scenarios based on your current net worth and contributions.
• It’s an early beta, but it already lets you reason about different financial paths instead of just tracking the past.

There’s a lot more coming here: better assumptions, configurable average yields, and more realistic long-term projections. This feature is very much in progress, and your feedback will directly shape it.

Bulk Records Import

Import is no longer limited to positions. You can now bulk import your records.

• Import multiple records at once. This makes it much faster to backfill your net worth history or migrate from spreadsheets.
• Improved feedback during import, making it clearer what was added and what failed, instead of silently skipping records.

AI Advisor Improvements

The AI advisor continues to mature behind the scenes.

• Improved internal tooling and structure allow the advisor to reason more consistently about your portfolio and history.
• Responses are more reliable, and this lays the groundwork for much deeper analysis in the future.

We’re working every day to make the AI advisor better.

💶 More Robust Exchange Rates

We added better fallbacks for exchange rates, making valuations more resilient when data providers fail or lag. This improves accuracy, especially for users with international portfolios.

In December we also added support for a new currency: AED. You are now able to add securities listed in the Abu Dhabi and Dubai exchanges.

Daily Net Worth Tracking

A complete upgrade of how Foliofox tracks your net worth.

• Your chart now uses daily data points instead of weekly snapshots.
• This gives you way more accurate history, especially if your assets change often.
• The chart loads much faster thanks to a backend + caching optimization.

Shareable Portfolio Links (Public Sharing)

Stop taking screenshots or photos of your screen (iykyk). Share your portfolio the clean way.

• You can now enable public sharing directly from your dashboard.
• Foliofox generates a unique link with an expiration date, perfect for Reddit posts, forums, or showing a friend.
• You can edit the expiration, disable the link, or even customize your link name (first come, first served).
• No personal info is included.

A Smarter AI Advisor

The AI advisor now knows you better.

• There’s a new Financial Profile section in your menu where you can add context about your income, goals, experience, and risk tolerance.
• The AI Advisor uses this to give you far more personalized guidance.
• You’ll also see exactly which tools the AI uses to analyze your portfolio and history.

We are working on making the AI advisor better everyday.

For the more technical crowd: Foliofox now has full Docker support.

If you want to self-host Foliofox, spin it up locally, or run it on your own server, you can now do it with a single Docker setup.
